We got a chance to talk to Method, Anomaly and Da Bears about why they use the IME 3.0 as their mouse of choice...
We sat down with Method of Team 3D, anomaly of check-six, and Da Bears of zEx to talk about why they have chosen the IME 3.0 as their gaming mouse.
1) When did you start using the IME (old or new)?
Method: When the very first IME 3.0 were first produced it was given to me by my clan leader of SiNi.
anomaly: I began using the IME in late 2001 when I'd just begun playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein competitively. After some frustrations with my ball mouse the IME became my first optical mouse, and I haven't used another mouse since.
Da Bears: Back in ‘03 at the hardtastic ninja crib 1.0.
2) What made you start using it?
Method: Basically a present that was given to me and it was a laser mouse so I tried it out and it was amazing.
anomaly: Well I wasn't very tech-savvy in those days, so recommendations from friends and peers convinced me to check it out. This was around the time when optical mice had just gone mainstream and most gamers were already using them, it seemed like the majority of players, including my teammates were using the IME so it was naturally my first choice.
Da Bears: One of my very good friends Adam "[CCCP]Bauh4us" Wellen owned one. I played a little bit with it and I enjoyed it very much. It felt oh so right. And my blue mouseman was a pos.
3) What were your first impressions of the mouse?
Method: What could go wrong with laser, when ball mouses were in.
anomaly: My first impression of the IME was that it was so consistent in comparison to my former ball mouse and other optical mice I had tried out. I was also impressed by the level of accuracy and precision it provided, which was evident the first time I played with it. These factors set it apart from all other options right from the onset.
Da Bears: It felt so natural to my hand, the shape of it was perfect and it made my aim better.
4) Why do you continue to use the IME?
Method: The consistency on my flick shots.
anomaly: Nowadays there's a wide array of quality mice on the market. I've continued to use the IME throughout the years not just because of its features, but its superior shape and feel which has remained a constant since the beginning. Everything from its weight to its button placement has provided a certain feel that I haven't found in any other device. It's just that extra level of comfort along with the raw accuracy features that keep me from straying elsewhere.
Da Bears: Not many choices out there really. Logitech has bad drivers, fatal1ty makes mice and that’s about it. Really nothing feels as appealing as an ms3.0.
5) What do you like most about the IME?
Method: The shape and how it perfectly fits my hands.
anomaly: What I like most about the IME is its shape. It provides such a nice, consistent feel that using any other mouse feels like a chore. Technology and features are one thing, but at the end of the day you have to feel comfortable with what you're using and the IME's shape provides that level of comfort for me.
Da Bears: How comfortable it is #1. The laser doesn’t crap out #2.
6) How important is the mouse to your game and why?
Method: The precision laser on the mouse is probably the best for reflex shots and it reads just too well.
anomaly: The mouse is easily the FPS gamers’ most important peripheral. Being able to aim consistently and accurately is one of the most important facets of the game(s). Simply put, a player's ability to aim well comes down to the synthesis between body and mouse; and I've found that with the IME.
Da Bears: The deadliest weapon in the cyberworld is a gamer and his mouse. It is your killer instinct which must be harnessed if you expect to survive in e-combat. Your mouse is only a tool. It is a hard heart that kills. If your killer instincts are not clean and strong you will hesitate at the moment of truth. You will not kill.
